Life's Transitions

Transitions are times of crossing or traveling from something old and familiar to something new and unfamiliar. Most are small and pass by almost unnoticed. Some, however, involve major disruptions in routines and force us to reexamine our values and lifestyle. Transitions range from changes that affect everything, to more personal transitions that affect one’s career and relationships. They may be voluntary (like changing careers or moving to a new house), or involuntary, (like an accident, disability or illness). They may be predictable or unpredictable. They may involve the loss of a relationship, loved one or job. Perhaps becoming a new parent, new marriage, or forming a new blended family. Whatever the adjustment, they challenge us to grow and force us to concentrate on the present with hope for the future.
